Welcome to Calverton Miners Welfare FC. The origins of our club are represented in our club badge. The growth of the community was the opening of the new Coal mine in the 1950s, bringing an influx of families from the north east to meet the demand for new jobs at the Colliery and a new start. As the community grew so did the need for social activities including football & cricket , our sporting history started in 1946 . We value our past but have a strong commitment to the future.
If you are a new manager or Coach, Parent or Player , we want you to know you are not on your own, we are here to help.
MISSION STATEMENT:
- To build & sustain a successful community football club
- Inclusive football for all regardless of ability , gender or age
- To provide an environment where young players can express themselves and enjoy their football development and education.
- Provide a model pathway of FAIR PLAY TIME for learning and development of youth players such that the opportunity to play at senior level exists at Calverton.
- To maximise the potential of talented individuals!
- Develop players as responsible people with an awareness of their responsibilities to each other with mutual respect for others.
- Develop and teach the young players to understand the benefits to be gained in a healthy lifestyle, diet, drug awareness, education and codes of conduct.
- To develop relationships with parents, schools and other professional organisations that is concerned with the needs of young players individually and collectively.
We will achieve this through the following aims:
- We will encourage and promote the development of football within the community and the surrounding area in a safe and secure environment
- We will strive to provide equal opportunity for players of both sexes and all abilities & disability players to participate in football at all age levels.
- The club will promote equal & fair play time in ALL teams up to 11 a-side football.
- The club will seek to compete at the highest possible level.
- We will endeavour to facilitate the provision of the best playing amenities and equipment available to us in line with the growth of sport within the community
- We will aim to be amongst the best football clubs within the county and continue to achieve the highest possible standards in grass root football
